Sylvie is a New York City native who began her career at The Actors Studio under the direction of Ellen Burstyn, Elizabeth Kemp, & Al Pacino. Her studies there led her to The William Esper Studio, where she completed the two-year Meisner conservatory program under the direction of Terry Knickerbocker. Upon graduation, Sylvie studied in Master classes with Bill Esper, Michael Howard and Wynn Handman.

Mr. Handman once described Sylvie as having “the power to play Madea.” Tony-winning producer Dennis Grimaldi— who directed Sylvie in the play How Alfo Learned to Love at The Acorn Theater— called her work  on stage “effervescent”. Additionally, Sylvie was the personal assistant to famed acting coach to the stars, Greta Seacat, for three years. Ms. Seacat mentored her and calls Sylvie a “young Jessica Lange… [a] tough, unfaltering, intelligent actor with depth and range.” Marcie Phillips (Executive Director of Casting, ABC) says Sylvie is “unique; perfect for a Woody Allen film.”
